Hispanic State Legislators Convene 16th National Summit in San Diego
House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, Sens. Marco Rubio & Kamala Harris, scientists and other subject matter experts, to address participants.
The National Hispanic Caucus of State Legislators (NHCSL) announced today that the 16th National Summit of Hispanic State Legislators will be held from December 6-8, 2018 in San Diego, CA. Latino state legislators from across the country will convene to focus on key priorities for Latino families. The summit will gather senior elected officials, state legislators, Members of Congress, community advocates, corporate executives, and policymakers to address some of the issues impacting Latino voters. Attendees will participate in panels to discuss a wide variety of issues, such as online privacy, the opioid crisis, cannabis decriminalization and policy, consumer trends and the future of retail, energy and climate change, the Jones Act, gun policy, the US Leadership Role in the Middle East, and sickle cells. NHCSL members will also make a site visit to the Genomics Institute of the Novartis Research Foundation (GNF).
In addition, participants will hear from House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi (CA), Senator Marco Rubio (FL), Senator Kamala Harris (CA), who will address the gathering via separate video messages.
