Rep. Ángel Matos
Rep. Angel Matos was elected to the Puerto Rico House of Representatives in 2012, and represents District 40, which encompasses most of the city of Carolina. He is also the Majority Speaker.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Administration from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico, and did field work a as part of his studies at the Instituto Tecnológico de Educación Superior (TEC) in Monterrey, Mexico, and at the Centro Euro Latinoamericano de la Juventud in Malaga, Spain.
In 1997 he began his legislative work in Puerto Rico as an advisor and, since 2003, Rep. Matos has been a visiting panelist and moderator of the renowned radio shows Pica y se extiende, Encontrao's en el 580 and WKAQ en la Noche.
He was elected to Carolina's 40th District, a precinct that runs from the Isla Verde area to Parque Escorial to the south, and from Country Club to the west to Fragoso Avenue to the east. Hie currently sits in the Travel Industry Development Commission, Federal and International Affairs and Veterans Affairs Commission, Calendars and Special Rules of Debate Commission, and the Commission for the Development and Oversight of the Northeastern Region.
Rep. Matos currently serves ins NHCSL’s leadership as Treasurer.
