Sen. Dunixi Guereca

Senator Dunixi Guereca is the proud son of two Mexican immigrants who came to the US in search of a better life. He has dedicated his career to empowering everyday working people and creating opportunities.

He’s the Executive Director of Stand for Schools, a Nebraska nonprofit organization focused on supporting and strengthening public schools, where he works every day to make sure that Nebraska's public schools remain among the best in the country. Prior to that, Sen. Guereca was a union organizer for SEIU where he built power so that healthcare workers were given a fair wage, had the tools to keep themselves safe during the pandemic, and were able to care for our loved ones.

Sen. Guereca is an Eagle Scout and has volunteered with the Boy Scouts of America. He studied Political Science at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and University of Nebraska-Kearney. He served as President of the Nebraska Young Democrats and as national officer for the Young Democrats of America.
