Rep. Rafael Anchía (TX)

Rep. Rafael Anchía is currently serving his tenth term in the Texas Legislature representing the western corridor of Dallas County and is part of the Energy Resources, House Administration, Redistricting, and State Affairs Committees.

Before his tenure in the Texas House, Rep. Anchía was twice elected as a Trustee for the Dallas Independent School District. From 2011-2015, he held a position in President Barack Obama's administration as an appointee to the Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations, advising on trade and investment agreements. In 2017, his peers elected him as Chairman of the Mexican American Legislative Caucus (MALC), the oldest and largest Latino caucus in the United States.

Rep. Anchía graduated cum laude from Southern Methodist University (SMU) and continued his studies at Tulane Law School, where he served as Senior Fellow and earned his juris doctorate. His public service focuses on civil rights, public education, environmental protection, and improving healthcare access for women and children.
